Discover Penticton with the help of Kettle Valley Beach Resort
There’s so much to see and do in our beautiful city. Head out for an adventure, try our world class food and beverages, browse downtown Penticton, or relax on the beach with some delicious gelato. There truly is something for everyone. Take a look below and email us with any questions as you plan your stay.
It’s like Napa, only with a lake! We have over 80 wineries here in the Okanagan Valley and our wine is outstanding. Beautifully situated on rich volcanic soils, the Okanagan produces award winning Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, and Rosé, along with Pinot Noir and sparkling wines. Walk, bike or drive along Naramata Bench, or book a wine tour. Can’t decide what to explore first? Ask our team about their favourites! We can also give you tips and tricks on the best tours for tastings.
Beyond the winery scene, Penticton is filled with deliciousness. From fantastic coffee to world class restaurants, you can find it all in Penticton and the surrounding area. Some of our favourites include Wayne and Freda, Elma and Salty’s, both on Lakeshore Drive, the Naramata Inn, and of course, our own Socialē!
BREWERIES & CIDER
Penticton reigns supreme over the Okanagan craft beer scene and is home to the annual Okanagan Fest of Ale. Try one of our eight breweries: Tin Whistle Brewery, the Barley Mill Brewpub, Cannery Brewing, Bad Tattoo Brewing, Neighborhood Brewing, Slackwater Brewing, and the new Abandoned Rail Brewing on the KVR Trail. And don’t forget cider! Try both old and new world cider-making techniques from cideries like La Petite Abeille, Naramata Cider Company and Creek & Gully.
ON THE WATER
Water sports are a way of life in Penticton and floating the channel is a summertime must. We’ve partnered with Coyote Cruises to offer guests float experiences as activity for their stay. Guests can also sail, wakeboard, kite board, kayak, canoe, and paddle board.
When you stay at Kettle Valley Beach Resort, you are just steps away from beautiful Okanagan Lake Beach, with its long stretches of golden sand, great swimming and nearby amenities. Want to explore? Other nearby world class beaches include Skaha, Sudbury and Three Mile, all within a short drive from our resort!
BIKES & HIKES
Whatever your skill or fitness level, we have endless biking, hiking and walking trails for you to enjoy. Stroll through the wineries, bike the Kettle Valley Railway Trail for breathtaking views, or zoom down a single-track on a mountain bike. We have partnered with Epic Cycling for your bike rentals, guided wine tours, picnics and more. Contact the Epic team for more information.
Penticton has the best farmers’ markets in BC on summer Saturday mornings from 9:00 -12:00 on Main Street and Lakeshore Drive (a 10 min walk from the resort). Go for breakfast and choose from the European inspired bakeries, fresh farm produce and food trucks. The meat pies are a must-try and when it’s hot, don’t miss the fruit galettes and ice cream pops. Local sellers proudly grow, make, bake or create everything they sell.
ARTS & CULTURE
Here in Penticton, we have a rich and diverse history for you to explore. The Penticton Museum is a must stop for its many exhibits on Penticton’s history. Or check out the SS Sicamous to learn about the marine history and heritage of the Okanagan. Our local artists can be found in Penticton’s art galleries, and the SnPink’tn (The Penticton Indian Band) represents one of the seven communities of the Okanagan Nation.
Antiques, designer boutiques, eclectic thrift stores and bookshops are just a few of the great stores in the area. Find something special just steps from the beach, or stock up on supplies before stopping in for lunch at one of our downtown restaurants. We have an indoor mall if you need a break from the sun, and Main Street is filled with art, souvenirs and gifts.
